Bosch Washer Dryer Intro Section

Bosch Washer Dryer Repairs

Both functions covered — washing and drying.

Bosch washer dryers combine the washing performance of their washing machine range with a built-in drying function — a practical solution where space is limited. Like all Bosch laundry appliances, they're well built, parts are readily available across the group, and in most cases worth repairing when something goes wrong.

At Bath Washco we repair both the washing and drying functions — not just one or the other. We've been servicing Bosch washer dryers across Bath, Wiltshire and Somerset for over 30 years, freestanding and integrated, and we carry parts for both sides of the machine in the van as standard.

Bosch Washer Dryer Faults Section

From 30 Years of Bosch Repairs

Common Bosch Washer Dryer Faults

Washer dryer faults can affect the washing side, the drying side, or both. We diagnose and repair both functions — here's what we see most often.

Washing side

E18 / E06 / E36

Not Draining

Blocked pump filter, failed drain pump, or blocked drain hose. Check and clean the filter first — it's accessible without an engineer.

Typically fixed in one visit

F21 / F43 / E43

Not Spinning

Carbon brush wear on older models is a common cause — a cost-effective fix. On newer brushless motor machines more likely a control board or motor issue. F43/E43 can also show for motor or spin faults — needs diagnosis to identify the specific cause.

Brushes carried as standard

F23 / E23

Water Leak Detected

Leak sensor triggered — can be a door seal, dispenser hose, or pump. The dispenser hose is a common Bosch-specific cause, and is often misdiagnosed.

Electrical

Element Tripping RCD

Heating element failure causing the RCD to trip — moisture ingress or limescale damage to the element. Common in hard water areas. Element needs replacing.

Elements carried as standard

Drying side

Mechanical

Fan Lint Buildup & Motor Seizure

There is no filter on the dryer unit — lint accumulates over time and can seize the fan motor, particularly on older machines or those where the dryer function is rarely used. Corrosion is a common factor on dormant machines. The condenser is accessible on most models but this is an engineer job, not DIY.

Engineer job — not DIY

Electrical

Dryer Thermostat Failure

Overheating protection triggers and the machine stops drying — usually a failed thermostat on the drying circuit. Often caused by restricted airflow from lint buildup. Thermostat replaced and airflow checked as part of the repair.

Thermostats carried as standard

Electrical

Dryer Element Tripping

The drying element can fail and trip the RCD — similar to the washing element fault but on the drying circuit. Needs careful diagnosis to identify which element is at fault before parts are ordered.

Bosch Washer Dryer BSH Group Section

About the Brand Group

Bosch, Siemens & Neff — One Group, Shared Expertise

All three brands are manufactured under the same group — shared parts platforms and similar fault profiles mean we can cover all three.

Bosch

The most common BSH washer dryer we see. Well built, good parts availability, and both washing and drying functions well supported. Generally worth repairing when something goes wrong.

You're on the Bosch page

Siemens

Same internal parts as Bosch in most cases, with higher spec electronics as standard. Broadly the same fault profile across both the washing and drying functions.

Siemens washer dryer repair

Neff

Almost exclusively integrated and built-in. Same group, broadly shared parts, though some Neff models have component differences including motors. Higher replacement cost makes repair particularly worthwhile.

Neff washer dryer repair

Lamona

Howdens' own-brand range. Some Lamona washer dryers are rebadged Bosch or Neff machines — meaning BSH parts can cross over. Worth checking before assuming your Lamona is unrepairable.

Which? Trusted Trader — 10 Years
Generally yes — Bosch washer dryers are well built and parts are available for both the washing and drying functions. Most faults are cost-effective to repair. The main exception is fan motor seizure with significant corrosion on older machines, where replacement may make more sense. Our repair vs replace guide covers the key things to consider.
Yes — we repair both sides of the machine. Whether the fault is on the washing function, the drying function, or both, we diagnose and fix the full appliance. We carry parts for both washing and drying components in the van as standard.
The most common causes are a failed dryer thermostat, a faulty dryer element, or a restricted fan due to lint buildup. There is no filter on the dryer unit so lint accumulates over time — this can restrict airflow and cause the thermostat to trip as a safety measure. Call us on 01225 429127 and we'll talk you through what it's likely to be on your model.
Lint buildup and corrosion are the main causes — and it's more common on machines where the dryer function is rarely used. A dormant dryer unit is more prone to corrosion than one used regularly. The condenser is accessible on most Bosch models but cleaning and servicing it is an engineer job, not something we'd recommend attempting yourself.
Yes — we repair both freestanding and fully integrated Bosch washer dryers. Integrated machines require careful access to avoid damaging cabinetry, which we're experienced with. All Bosch washer dryer models covered, freestanding and built-in.
Yes — Siemens and Neff are in the same group as Bosch with shared parts platforms. We repair all three. Neff washer dryers are almost all integrated and some use different parts including motors, but we're familiar with the differences. Some Lamona machines are also rebadged BSH appliances — give us a call if you're unsure.
