Bosch Dishwasher Repairs

Quiet, reliable — and worth fixing.

Bosch consistently produce some of the best dishwashers on the market — exceptionally quiet thanks to their EcoSilence motor, excellent cleaning performance, and built to last. As part of the same group as Siemens and Neff, Bosch dishwashers share a common parts platform meaning components are well stocked and readily available.

At Bath Washco we've been repairing Bosch dishwashers across Bath, Wiltshire and Somerset for over 30 years. We carry Bosch dishwasher parts in the van as standard — from heating elements and drain pumps to door cables and heat exchanger valves. Bosch Dishwasher Faults & Error Codes Section

From 30 Years of Bosch, Siemens & Neff Repairs

Common Bosch Dishwasher Faults & Error Codes

These are the faults we see most often on Bosch, Siemens and Neff dishwashers — from genuine day-to-day experience over 30 years.

E24 / E25

Not Draining

One of the most common Bosch faults. Usually a blocked filter, failed drain pump, or blocked drain hose. Check and clean the filter first — it's accessible without an engineer.

Typically fixed in one visit

E09

Heating Fault

Dishes not drying or water not heating — usually a failed heating element or heat pump fault. Common in hard water areas where limescale damages the element over time.

Elements carried as standard

E15

Flood Protection Activated

Water detected in the base tray — flood protection has triggered and the machine won't run. Can be a genuine leak from a door seal, hose or pump, or a faulty sensor. Needs proper diagnosis.

Needs diagnosis before parts ordered

E19

Heat Exchanger Valve

A known weakness across Bosch, Siemens and Neff dishwashers. The heat exchanger valve fails over time — fiddly to repair but the part is reasonably priced. One of the more common faults we see across the group.

Known group-wide fault — we're familiar with it

E18

Flow Sensor Fault

Machine not detecting the correct water flow. Can be a faulty flow sensor, blocked inlet filter, or inlet valve fault. Needs diagnosis to identify the specific cause.

Diagnosis required first

Mechanical

Door Cables & Springs

A notable Bosch weakness — the rope-style door cables fray over time, causing the door to drop or not stay open properly. More common on Bosch than most other brands. Straightforward repair once diagnosed.

Bosch-specific weakness — parts stocked

No display

Check Water Light

On Bosch models without a display, the check water icon is a general error indicator — not necessarily a water issue. Commonly misdiagnosed. Could indicate drainage, heating or sensor faults. Call us before assuming the worst.

Bosch Dishwasher BSH Group Section

About the Brand Group

Bosch, Siemens & Neff — One Group, Shared Expertise

All three brands are manufactured under the same group — shared parts platforms and similar fault profiles mean we can cover all three.

Bosch

The benchmark of the group. Excellent build quality, very quiet, outstanding cleaning performance, and good parts availability. Known weakness on door cables but almost always worth repairing.

You're on the Bosch page

Siemens

Same internal parts as Bosch in most cases, with higher spec electronics and more technology features as standard. Same fault profile including the heat exchanger valve — a known weakness across the group.

Siemens dishwasher repair

Neff

Almost exclusively integrated and built-in. Same group, broadly shared parts, though some Neff models have component differences. Higher replacement cost makes repair particularly worthwhile. Heat exchanger valve fault is common here too.

In most cases yes — Bosch dishwashers are well built, very quiet, and parts are readily available. Most faults including heating, drainage, door cables and heat exchanger valves are cost-effective to fix. Our repair vs replace guide covers the key things to consider.
Not draining is one of the most common faults we see — usually error code E24 or E25. Often caused by a blocked filter, failed drain pump, or blocked drain hose. Check and clean the filter first — it's accessible without an engineer. The heat exchanger valve fault (E19) is also very common across Bosch, Siemens and Neff.
E15 means the flood protection has triggered — water has been detected in the base tray and the machine has stopped as a safety measure. It can be a genuine leak from a door seal, hose or pump, or a faulty sensor. The machine won't run again until the fault is properly diagnosed and resolved.
E19 is a heat exchanger valve fault — a known and common issue across Bosch, Siemens and Neff dishwashers. The valve fails over time. It's a fiddly repair but the part itself is reasonably priced. We see this regularly and are familiar with the fix.
Yes — we repair both freestanding and fully integrated Bosch dishwashers, including semi-integrated models. Integrated machines require careful access to avoid damaging cabinetry and door panels, which we're experienced with. All Bosch models covered.
On Bosch models without a display screen, the check water icon is used as a general error indicator — it doesn't necessarily mean there's a water supply problem. It's one of the most commonly misdiagnosed Bosch faults. Call us on 01225 429127 and we can talk you through what it's likely to mean on your model.
Yes — Siemens and Neff are in the same group as Bosch with shared parts platforms. We repair all three. The heat exchanger valve fault (E19) is common across all three brands. Some Lamona dishwashers are also rebadged Bosch or Neff machines, so give us a call if you're unsure whether we can help.
Same-day and next-day appointments are often available across Bath, Chippenham, Trowbridge, Melksham, Keynsham, Radstock and Bradford on Avon. Call us on 01225 429127 to check availability.
